How peer-to-peer (P2P) works
- On a P2P market, pick a seller with lots of completed trades and good reviews.
- The platform locks the seller's coins in escrow while you pay them by bank transfer, mobile money or cash.
- Tap "I've paid". The seller releases the coins to your account.
Never pay outside the platform's chat, and never release or "refund" anything because someone asks you to.
Buying in person
- Bitcoin ATMs are quick but expensive (often 8–20%). Find one on Coin ATM Radar.
- Cash in person: many P2P markets have a "cash in person" option (Bisq calls it "face to face"). Meet in a busy public place, bring a friend, and hand over cash only after the coins arrive.
- If anyone — a "support agent", an "investment adviser", a new online friend — tells you to buy crypto at an ATM and send it to them, it is a scam.
Where to get Monero
- Swap: buy USDT or Bitcoin first, then swap it to Monero inside Cake Wallet, or at an instant-swap service such as Trocador.
- Peer-to-peer: RetoSwap (the Haveno network) lets you buy Monero from people with bank transfer or cash. Desktop app.
- Exchanges: most big exchanges have dropped Monero. Kraken still sells it in some regions — but not in the EU or Canada.
Japanese, Korean and Dubai-licensed exchanges are not allowed to list privacy coins, and EU exchanges won't be from July 2027.
Buy with a card or bank — instant on-ramps
The fastest way for most people. These services sell crypto straight to your own wallet with a card, Apple/Google Pay or a bank transfer — they show up as a Buy button inside wallet apps like MetaMask and Trust Wallet. Expect about 3–5% on a card (bank transfers are cheaper), and some ID above small amounts. They don't operate in countries that ban crypto.

Read the payment screen carefully
1 Send exactly this amount — every decimal. The last digits are a tag that tells us the payment is yours, so tap copy instead of typing it. 2 The network your coins must travel on. 3 The QR code and address to pay to (blurred here — always use the ones on your screen, never from this guide). Bitcoin prices are locked for 15 minutes; USDT and USDC are always 1 : 1 with the US dollar.

On a phone, 1 Open in wallet app fills in your wallet for you. On a computer, scan the QR with your phone wallet, or 2 Copy address and paste it into your wallet. Check the first and last few characters match. 3 Save the come-back link: you can close the page and return to collect your key once the payment is confirmed.

Payment received — your login key appears once
When your payment is confirmed, this screen shows your login key 1. It starts with ay_live_. This is the only time it is ever shown, and we don't keep a copy. (The key in these pictures is a sample — yours will be different.)

Save your key in two different places
Use the buttons 1 — password manager, download, print, recovery QR and more. The page asks for two different methods, so one backup can fail without locking you out. Which two should I pick?

Confirm and sign with your initials
1 Turn on "I have saved my key in at least two places", 2 accept that a lost key can't be recovered, 3 type your initials, then 4 tap Agree & continue to sign in.

Sign in with the key you just saved
1 Paste your key from where you saved it — not from memory — and 2 tap Sign in. This proves your saved copy works before you need it.

Your balance shows at the top 1, and you can start chatting 2. Your chats stay on your device only. Next time, just tap Log in and paste your key.

Keep your login key safe
Your key (it starts with ay_live_) is your account. Whoever has it can use your balance. If you lose it, nobody — including us — can bring it back, because we never store it.

A password manager (iCloud Keychain, Google Password Manager, 1Password, Bitwarden) + a printed or hand-written copy kept at home.

Download .txt to an encrypted USB drive + the Recovery QR image saved on another device.

What each save button does
- Copy — copies the key so you can paste it into a notes or password app.
- Keychain / password manager — your phone or browser offers to save it like a password.
- Share… — sends it to your own notes app, or AirDrops it to your other device.
- Download .txt — saves a small text file with the key.
- Email to me — convenient, but your email provider can read it. Less private.
- Recovery QR — a QR image of the key; scan it from another device to sign in.
- Print — a paper copy. Store it like cash.
- Save to Files — saves the text file to Files, iCloud Drive or Google Drive.
✓ Do
- Keep at least two copies in two different places.
- Sign in once with your saved copy (the payment flow does this for you).
- Sign out on shared or borrowed devices.
✗ Don't
- Send your key to anyone. We will never ask for it — not by email, Telegram or chat.
- Paste it into chats, support messages or AI prompts.
- Post a screenshot of it, or keep it only in one browser.
Adding credit later
Sign in, tap Add credit, choose a plan and a coin, and pay the same way. Your balance goes up and your key stays the same — you never get a new key.
Questions
How long until I get my login key?
Your key appears as soon as your payment is confirmed. The blockchain part takes about 1–5 minutes for USDT (TRON) and USDC (Polygon), and 10–60 minutes for Bitcoin; confirming it on our side can add a little time at busy moments. You can close the page — your come-back link brings you straight back.
I sent a slightly different amount. What now?
The last digits of the amount tell us the payment is yours. If a different amount arrived — usually because an exchange took its fee out of it — contact us with your transaction ID (TXID) and your come-back link, and we will match it by hand.
I sent on the wrong network.
Coins sent on a different network usually can't be recovered. Contact us with the TXID anyway — occasionally they can be, but we can't promise.
Do I need to show ID?
Not to us — we never ask who you are. The exchange where you buy coins may ask for ID; that is their rule, not ours. Paying from your own wallet keeps your exchange account one step away from your payment, and Monero (coming soon) leaves the least trace of all.
Can I add credit later?
Yes. Sign in, tap Add credit, choose a plan and a coin, and pay. Your balance goes up and your key stays the same — you never get a new one.
Can I pay Always Yes by card or bank transfer?
Not directly — a card or bank payment carries your name, the opposite of an anonymous account. But you can buy crypto with a card in seconds through an on-ramp (MoonPay, Transak, Ramp and others), send it to your own wallet, then pay us from there.
What is a card on-ramp?
A service that sells crypto straight to your wallet using a card, Apple/Google Pay or a bank transfer — it appears as a "Buy" button inside wallet apps. It is the quickest way to get your first USDT, USDC or Bitcoin. Fees are about 3–5% on a card, and most need some ID above small amounts.
Crypto is restricted where I live — can I still use Always Yes?
Our country notes tell you how people buy where you are, and flag the legal risk. Where crypto is banned, buying is usually peer-to-peer and at your own risk — understand your local law first. We only turn away countries under international sanctions.
What if I lose my key?
Nobody can recover it — not even us, because we never store it. Your account and balance are gone. That is why the payment screen makes you save it in two places.
